Week 2 - Precious in God’s Eyes

 Theme:

God is seeking me just as I am seeking Him. He is looking at me with a loving, friendly gaze.

He tells me: You are precious in My eyes. He longs for me.

What I desire:

That I may discover that God is seeking me.

That I may become aware that God longs for me.

That I can let God’s loving gaze rest upon me.

I pause for a moment and reflect on what this means. What stirs in me?

1 John 4, 7 – 12. God is Love

My dear friends, let us love one other, since love is from God and everyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. No one who fails to love knows God, because God is love.

God speaks to us as ‘dear friends’. That shows us that He has a special relationship with us. How do I experience that? God is love: what does that mean to me?

*

In this, the love of God was revealed among us, that God sent His only Son into the world that we might have life through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us ….

God came to us. He says: ‘You are precious in My eyes’. He longs for me.

I reflect on this.

*

…. He (God) loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

My dear friends, if God loved us so much, we too should love one another. No one has ever seen God, if we love one another God abides in us and his love comes to perfection in us.

If we love one another, God abides in us, visible in our interactions with all kinds of people.

When have I experienced God’s love in me?
