Week 9 - A new beginning
Jesus Cures a Deaf Man
31 Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, through the region of the Decapolis.
They brought to him a man who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech; and they besought him to lay his hand upon him.
Taking him aside from the multitude privately, Jesus put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched his tongue; and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”
His ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly.
Jesus charged them to tell no one; but the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well; he even makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.”
- Where am I in the crowds? Nearby, as one of the disciples.
Do I want to be hidden, or seen.
What do I hear, smell, touch,
Am I a part of it, or only an observer?
- They brought a deaf man, and ask Jesus to cure him .
What do I asl from Jesus for my friends. For my family, for myself
- Jesus says Effata, be opened.
Does he say that also to me ?
what does Jesus say to me ?
- What is my reaction?
SONG Jesus remember me, when you come into your kingdom.
