Week 28 - The New Creation

I place myself before God (if I have not already done so).

He is looking at me with tenderness.

Theme:

The theme is “The New Creation”.

Step by step, experience after experience leads us to see the full scale of what has happened. The old order of things has been done away with.

What I desire:

That I can find joy the New Creation. That the Lord of all creation will make my life new.

Today there will be a lot of peace and quiet, a lot of reflection. Let your thoughts wander. If they remain focused on something let that be: it is good. Submerge yourself in the music and the text.

Music: Taizé : “Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus”

Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus

Confitemini Domino, Alleluia

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

For His mercy endures forever.

New creation, new life, in a new season of Spring. How do I experience that? Where do I find a new experience of joy? What do I want to thank the Lord for?

*

From Psalm 8:

O Lord, our Sovereign,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
    the moon and the stars that you have established;
what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
    mortals that you care for them?

“Mortals that you care for them”. The Psalmist words it so. Feeling small in the expanse of nature, small in creation. Can I also experience that in this way? Maybe though in very different environments? Or is it different for me?

*

Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
    and crowned them with glory and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
    you have put all things under their feet,
all sheep and oxen,
    and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
    whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign,
    how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have made human beings a little lower than God, the Psalm tells us. All things have been put under my feet.

How do I experience that? Is it also so in other domains of my life? How do I see my fellow human beings, my possessions, my talents? How does this make me feel?
